For 59 years Adelaide Festival audiences have delighted in an outstanding mix of internationally acclaimed theatre productions, an eclectic array of world-class musicians, breathtaking dance pieces, renowned writers and striking visual arts displays. Enjoyed amid warm March days and starry nights, Adelaide Festival’s celebration of creative excellence makes for an event of truly epic proportions.

The arts change lives, and the power of Adelaide Festival’s world-class program provides teachers with the opportunity to introduce and expose students to big ideas, important global themes and new perspectives on life’s joys and challenges. Thought-provoking and inspiring performances and visual art act as a gateway into creative conversations and leave a lasting impression on young minds.

Established in September 2014 after Urban Myth closed their classes, SAYarts is a collective of former UMTOY tutors, directors, writers and arts professionals who seek to continue the strong tradition of theatre-making in Adelaide’s youth community and beyond. Managing Director & Creative Producer Bec Pannell registered the company with the belief that theatre and creative endeavour are crucial in the lives of young people. Joining her on the creative journey is award winning playwright, director and specialist youth tutor Sean Riley (Artistic Director); theatre-maker and actor Claire Glenn; extraordinary dance teacher and theatre-maker Nicole Allen; and various guest tutors such as Tamara Lee. We continue to employ Assistant Tutors for all of our classes that cater to children. Our staff are all police checked and we adhere to child safety guidelines. Our goal is to have as much fun as we can whilst helping our students to learn their craft.
