A seminar hosted by Brighton Secondary School drama teachers

Brighton Secondary School in partnership with the National Institute of Dramatic Arts is pleased to offer this seminar inviting participants to experience all elements of a professionally mentored and devised piece of relevant theatre.

 

The Urban Theatre program at BSS sees NIDA’s Head of Writing for Performance, Stephen Sewell, mentoring a young writer in the development of a stage play for performance. Now in its second year, the Urban Theatre program has had a focus on building outstanding learning outcomes in critical thinking, creativity, collaboration with learner voice at the centre of the process.

 

Seminar participants will hear from the cast, the director/teachers, the mentored playwright and Stephen Sewell, providing a thorough discussion of all elements of the devising process. Included is a showing of the performance by year 10 students at Brighton followed by a Q & A with Stephen.
