DSA Media Workshop: ‘Exploring the Filmmaking Process’ Recap

Last month DramaSA held our first Professional Learning Event of 2021: DSA Media Workshop: ‘Exploring the Filmmaking Process’!

This extremely successful practical hands-on event saw 25 delegates come together both in-person and online to learn and develop filming and editing techniques and discover practical and cost-effective data storage solutions and camera maintenance tips.

After coming together to start the day off, delegates then split into 2 groups – Primary and Middle/Secondary for session 1. This session focused on equipment and techniques for filming and gave delegates the opportunity to practices filming as well as starting to create a short film.

After lunch delegates returned to their groups to start the editing process for their films utilising a variety of editing platforms and programs. This saw the delegates creative flares shine and the creation of several wonderful short films.

To finish the day everyone gathered back together to share some of the magnificent films that were created as well as to go through data storage and camera care tips and tricks.

A big thank you to everyone involved in the day and to St Joseph's School Hectorville for providing the wonderful venue.

We look forward to seeing you at our next PL event. Go to dramasa.org to find out more!
