Presenter: Melissa White, Program Manager Early Career Teachers (& former Drama/English teacher) - Department for Education
The teacher standards outline what Australian teachers should aim to achieve at every career stage. They are there to guide your own ongoing development as teacher inside and outside the classroom.
The session will provide insight into the standards from the lens of a Drama teacher. Using your experiences, you'll explore how to capture the impact that you are having on students and colleagues and use this evidence to demonstrate any of the 4 career stages: graduate, proficient, highly accomplished or lead.
We will also cover the specific requirements for the transition from graduate to proficient for early career teachers, along with the processes involved in national certification as highly accomplished and lead teacher.
At the conclusion of the workshop, we will have a chance to network with fellow educators.
